Good day, Peeps, and happy Thanksgiving! How’s your prep work coming along? Any disasters yet? We can commiserate below. But first off,
A gentle reminder of how we do things:
- Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.
- Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If we alert you to it, please remember that we do have phobic peeps who react strongly to them. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paw.
Whew. It’s 3:45 Wednesday morning. I just crossed off the last chore on my pre-Thanksgiving checklist. My cranberry sauce and little pumpkin pies are cooling. I even got the dirty dishes washed. My weather radar map has snow coming for my area in about an hour. I’m ready for it. I even put up that plastic film over my back door. The rest of my cozy Thanksgiving dinner is going to be a breeze.
Maybe this morning I will give my fish tank a good cleaning. It will give my fishies something to be grateful for. They deserve it.
Now on with the memes.
Of course, with the annual Thanksgiving diary I have to include the obligatory notice of good handouts/bad handouts. This is just in case someone forgot about a given food.
Foods that are too greasy or sweet probably won’t agree with your pets. They can cause them to have an upset tummy or even give them a very painful case of pancreatitis.
Also remember while plain pumpkin, squash and sweet potatoes are fine for your woozles and pooties most pies are not. Pumpkin pies usually contain nutmeg. Nutmeg contains something called myristicin. Myristicin is a hallucinogen that can, in large enough doses, cause a rapid heart rate, hypertension, and even death in dogs. (Your pooties probably have enough sense not to eat it.) While a tiny bite of pumpkin pie probably won’t hurt your woozle, small doses can cause vomiting or diarrhea. Not cool for a family get together.
Also, while we’re on the subject, don’t let your woozle gobble down too many nuts, especially macadamias.
So what’s happening with your critters?
